Mr. Joseph Martey

Mr. Joseph Martey is a motivated and strategic Accounting professional with over 16 years of experience in finance and accounting primarily in profit and non-profit making sectors, with expertise in financial planning, fluent in international financial reporting standards (IFRS),internal and external auditing and implementation of internal control policies. Joseph Martey is Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG). He has been a professional member of the Institutes of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG) since 2005.

He also has Masters in Business Administration (Finance) and BSc in Administration (Accounting) both from the University of Ghana Business School. He has obtained master class training in Minerals Economics from the University of Queensland Australia and Public Sector Budgeting and Budgetary Control from Globe Management Training Cape town South Africa. Joseph has attended a number of training and conferences both locally and abroad including Chief finance officers’ conferences in Morocco and Extractive Resources Governance in Canada.

Mr. Joseph Martey is very knowledgeable in Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) and ERP software systems such as SAP, Tally, Premia, Soft Act etc. Prior to joining KNOC and Associates as a Partner, he worked as Head of Finance of the Minerals Commission. At the Minerals Commission, he implemented policies for costs control and increased revenue generation. He spear headed the improvement of internal controls, risks managements and developed policies for the efficient and prudent management of the finances of the Commission. Joseph Martey had also spent eight years working with Panalpina Ghana limited, an international freight forwarding company with head office in Switzerland as Finance Manager. Joseph also worked with Saham Insurance Ghana limited a multinational insurance company and a member of the Salem group as Finance Manager.

In addition to the above, he has also been an Audit Associate with Oduro Adiyiah Osei and Co an Audit and Consultancy firm in Accra. At Oduro Adiyiah Osei & Co he audited financial statements of clients and assisted in improving internal controls and weaknesses in accounting systems of companies. Joseph has led numerous auditing, trainings and projects and bring vast experiences and in depth knowledge to the work he does at KNOC and Associates.
